Our History

Pioneering Ethical Values Since 1953, Growing Stronger Together as a Family

Family Community

A Rich Heritage Built on Family Values

Born in the 1950s during the phenomenal rise of credit unions across Trinidad & Tobago, TACU Credit Union has survived and continues to prosper to this day. It may be because it has maintained those ethical values that bonds co-operatives: honesty, openness, social responsibility, and caring for others.

Throughout our growth, history has seen the Credit Union through many changes; some include its name, logo, geographical location, bond, organisational structure and leadership. TACU St. Augustine Credit Union, as it was formerly known, now resides at 27 Malabar Road, Arima. Prior to that, it was located at the T&TEC Distribution East compound at Tumpuna Road, Arima, where it was renamed TACU Credit Union Co-operative Society.
